<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Columbia Police arrested David Adams, 44, of Columbia, and Julius Cureton, 37, of Columbia, on Aug. 14 for the Dec. 11, 2017, murder of Augustus Roberts of Columbia.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Police officers arrested Adams and Cureton each on charges of second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Adams was arrested in the 3000 block of Paris Road, and Cureton was arrested in the area of Rolling Hills Road and Pride Mountain Drive.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">At about 3:37 a.m. on Dec. 11, 2017, police officers responded to a call about a suspicious person in the 1900 block of Lasso Circle. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Roberts unconscious and not breathing. Officers rendered aid until medical personnel arrived and pronounced Roberts dead. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">An investigation revealed that the suspects had forced entry into Roberts’ home and had assaulted him and a female resident, who received minor injuries. Investigators believe the home invasion was drug related, and the home was targeted by the suspects.</span></p>
