<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning Wednesday, Aug. 27, Lionmark Contracting, contractors for the City of Columbia Public Works department, will apply Onyx surface treatment to streets that previously received chip seal. The treatment is intended to extend the life of those streets and improve driving surface conditions.<br /><br />Streets will be treated in the order listed below over the course of the project.<br /><br /><strong>List of streets</strong><br /><br />

<strong>About Onyx</strong><br />Onyx is a thin, fast-drying protective seal made from asphalt emulsion, fine aggregate and recycled materials. It is applied after chip seal to seal small cracks, improve skid resistance, enhance surface smoothness and protect the roadway for years to come.<br /><br />Orange ‘No Parking' signs will be placed at least 24 hours in advance along streets scheduled for maintenance. Drivers are asked to avoid parking on these streets during the dates and times listed on the signs. Vehicles parked in work zones during active hours may be subject to towing.<br /><br />Crews will work each day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. until the project is complete, with the exception of Sundays, as well as the entirety of Aug. 30-Sept. 1, for Labor Day weekend.<br /><br />Crews are expected to complete pavement maintenance work by 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12. If there are delays caused by weather or other impacts, work may continue through Tuesday, Sept. 16.<br /><br />
