<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display:inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Columbia Police Department announces a crime data dashboard that will be available online to the public Aug. 25 at </span><a style="white-space:nowrap" href="http://cpd-transparency.como.gov"><span style="font-weight: 400;">cpd-transparency.como.gov</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> or by visiting the police department’s website at </span><a style="white-space:nowrap" href="http://como.gov/police"><span style="font-weight: 400;">como.gov/police</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The dashboard features several search tools that give the public more detailed information about crimes that have been reported in and around a given location within Columbia. It also provides statistics related to reported crimes for the past month, year or number of years by date, location or type of crime.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"This website reflects our dedication to open communication and is part of our broader effort to keep you informed and engaged," said Police Chief Jill Schlude. "By sharing accurate and timely crime data, we aim to provide a clear and honest picture of public safety in our city. Reliable data empowers both the department and the community to identify trends, respond effectively and work together on long-term solutions."</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The data available in the dashboard is updated daily and will be useful to citizens in many ways. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">"For example, people moving to Columbia and even people moving within the city often ask us about crime in a specific area" Chief Schlude said. "With this website they will be able to obtain that information quickly and easily."</span></p>
