<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - City of Columbia City Manager De’Carlon Seewood has selected William Rataj as the City’s next director of Housing and Neighborhood Services. Rataj will step into the role Sept. 29. <br /><br />"Rataj’s experience working in housing in Missouri will be beneficial to Columbia as we continue to explore implementing recommendations from our recent housing study, completed in partnership with Boone County," Seewood said. "I am excited to bring him on board and bring his experience to our community." <br /><br />Rataj has more than 29 years of experience in community development. He has worked as director of housing with the City of St. Louis' Community Development Administration since 2014.<br /><br />His previous roles include supervisor of housing programs, community development specialist II and community development specialist I with the City of St. Lo
 uis' Community Development Administration.<br /><br />Rataj's education includes a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He is also a certified housing development finance professional.<br /><br />"I am extremely excited to join the City of Columbia as the Housing and Neighborhood Services director. The City has a wonderful team of dedicated professionals who work very hard every day in the realms of affordable housing, code enforcement and by providing community services through their volunteer programs," Rataj said.  "These services are vitally important to the community as they help to make Columbia a better place to live, work, play, thrive and grow.  I cannot wait to get started and begin working  with not only the City staff, but also their numerous community partners as we collectively work towards our shared goals of improving Columbia."</div>
