<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Public Works department has scheduled an informal open house meeting regarding a sidewalk project planned for Mills Drive. The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash St.<br /><br />The purpose of this meeting is to present design concepts for the Mills Drive sidewalk project, which will improve pedestrian connections between shopping areas on Forum Boulevard and neighborhoods to the west. The project includes:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Construction of a sidewalk along the north side of Mills Drive between Forum Boulevard and Highridge Drive.</li>
<li>Construction or reconstruction of pedestrian curb ramps at intersections.</li>
</ul>
Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2027.<br /><br />At the meeting, information and diagrams showing the design concept will be available for public review and City engineering staff will be present to answer questions. A public comment form will be available at the meeting and on the project webpage.
