<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Multi-week sidewalk closure on East Broadway between Fourth and Fifth streets begins Sept. 9</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, the sidewalk in front of the McKinney Building, 411 E. Broadway, will close temporarily. The closure is necessary to protect pedestrians while structural repairs are made to the building.<br /><br />The closure is expected to last several weeks. During this time, signs will guide pedestrians to safe crossings at both Fourth and Fifth streets.<br /><br />The City of Columbia purchased the McKinney Building in August 2023 in an effort to preserve the historic property. The century-old building has served many roles over the years, including as a jazz venue, candy store, shopping outlet and African American community center.<br /><br />For more information on the building, visit the <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://beheard.como.gov/">BeHeardCoMo</a> site regarding the <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://beheard.como.gov/the-future-of-the-mckinne
