<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px; margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Phase 3 of Route K and Old Plank Road roundabout project to begin Nov. 10</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning Monday, Nov. 10, Sam Gaines Construction, contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works department, will begin phase three of construction on the roundabout at West Route K and West Old Plank Road. Phase three will focus on construction of the west leg of the roundabout near the former Leatherwood Hills Gas Station and Vermillion Drive.<br /><br />During phase three, West Route K will be closed west of the intersection with West Old Plank Road. Drivers will no longer be able to use West Old Plank Road to head west on Route K, but will be able to use the portion of the roundabout that has been completed to turn left and head east on Route K.<br /><br />Traffic on West Route K heading east toward Columbia will be detoured north on South Sinclair Road to West Southampton Drive.<br /><br />Traffic on West Route K heading west from Columbia should use East Southampton Drive and South Sincla
ir Road to reach West Route K.<br /><br />The detour is expected to remain in place for approximately four weeks and is anticipated to end by 5 p.m., Dec. 5, weather permitting.<br /><br />A <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://www.como.gov/CMS/pressreleases/view.php?id=9366">previous press release</a> stated that phase two was expected to end in early October. Due to construction-related delays, completion shifted to Nov. 10. Overall project completion is still anticipated by early winter, weather permitting.<br /><br />Drivers are reminded to use caution in work zones, follow posted detours and signage, and watch for construction workers and equipment. Slowing down and staying alert helps protect both crews on site and fellow drivers.</div>
