<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Youth Advisory Council (YAC) has resumed work to advise City Council on matters pertaining to youth and youth-related issues.<br /><br />YAC’s mission is to empower the youth of Columbia's community to get involved and develop the skills necessary to lead a better future. <br /><br />The group’s focus areas include sustainability, wellness and youth safety and security. <br /><br />"The Youth Advisory Council plays an important role in fostering connections between our youth and the community, and I look forward to strengthening those connections as chair this year," said YAC Chair Grace Harris. <br /><br />Anyone interested in submitting ideas related to the group’s focus topics can reach out to Lacy Salazar at Lacey.Salazar@CoMo.gov.<br /><br />More information about the council can be found at CoMo.gov/boards/youth-advisory-council/.</div>
