<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia Finance department has received the Government Finance Officers Association’s Excellence in Financial Reporting certificate for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year 2024. <br /><br />The report was judged by a panel and met the program's standards, which include demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report. <br /><br />This certificate is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. This is the 47th year in a row that the City of Columbia has received the award.<br /><br />"We are honored to receive this award for the 47th consecutive year. This achievement reflects our department’s ongoing commitment to transparency, accuracy and a true ‘spirit of full disclosure
 ’ in telling the City’s financial story," said Director of Finance Matthew Lue. "I am incredibly proud of our accounting team for upholding the highest standards in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and for producing a report that not only meets rigorous professional criteria but also serves our community by providing clear, accessible information about how public resources are managed."<br /><br />You can find the fiscal year 2024 annual budget report at <a href="https://www.como.gov/finance/accounting/financial-reports/">CoMo.gov/finance/accounting/financial-reports/</a>.<br /><br />The Government Finance Officers Association was founded in 1906 and represents public finance officials throughout the United States and Canada. The association's more than 20,000 members are federal, state/provincial and local finance officials deeply involved in planning, financing and implementing thousands of governmental operations in each of their 
 jurisdictions.</div>
