(COLUMBIA, MO) - Beginning June 4, 2026, American Airlines will offer nonstop flights from Columbia Regional Airport (COU) to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT).

This new route enables mid-Missouri travelers to reach more than 300 global destinations with just one connection, and complements existing American service from COU to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

"We’re thrilled to grow our partnership with American Airlines, bringing even more travel options to our community," said City Manager De’Carlon Seewood. "Charlotte has been a destination regional travelers have repeatedly expressed interest in, so this is an important milestone for COU and a win for the travelers who rely on us."

"American is proud to offer more flights than any other airline from COU, an
d we’re thrilled to add new flights to Charlotte," said Jordan Pack, American’s director of Domestic Network Planning. "CLT is American’s second-largest hub with service to more than 170 destinations, putting even more of the world within reach from COU. We thank the community, Columbia Regional Airport and the University of Missouri for their partnership in expanding air service, and we look forward to welcoming travelers on our new flights."

The addition of flights is also crucial in supporting economic drivers and major employers in the community, like the University of Missouri.

"Expanded air service is a tremendous benefit to our university and the broader community," said University of Missouri President Mun Choi. "For our students, convenient flights make it easier to head home for the holidays and enjoy safe, affordable travel for spring break. As Mizzou continues to grow and pursue bold goal
