<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">North Eighth Street lane closure between East Walnut Street, East Broadway starts Jan. 7</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, the northbound lane of North Eighth Street between East Walnut Street and East Broadway will temporarily close in front of the Guitar Building, 28 N. Eighth St. The closure will allow crews to repair the full length of the parapet wall on the west side of the building and secure the exterior.<br /><br />During the closure:<br /><br />
<ul>
<li>Only southbound traffic will be permitted on North Eighth Street between East Walnut Street and the adjacent alley.</li>
<li>Northbound traffic from East Broadway will be detoured through the alley.</li>
<li>Signs will be posted to guide traffic safely around the closure.</li>
</ul>
All entrances and exits to the Eighth and Walnut Plaza Parking Garage will remain accessible. Due to the northbound restriction, customers entering the parking garage from North Eighth Street must approach from East Walnut Street and vehicles exiting onto North Eighth Street must turn right.<br /><br />Sidewalks will remain open. <br /><br />The first phase of work along North Eighth Street is expected to be completed within seven to 10 days, weather permitting. Once finished, crews plan to shift operations to the north side of the Guitar Building. That work will require closing the eastbound lane of East Walnut Street at a later date.<br /><br />A follow-up press release will announce details of the East Walnut Street closure as work progresses and the schedule becomes known.</div>
