<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Carol Rhodes, assistant city manager for the City of Columbia, will retire from the City of Columbia on Feb. 13 after 31 years of service. <br /><br />"Carol has been a pillar at the City of Columbia during her time in the organization," City Manager De'Carlon Seewood said. "The institutional knowledge and leadership she brings to the organization are highlighted through many successful initiatives, including overseeing the strategic planning process and implementation, forming the City's Contact Center and leading the City's inaugural Community Summit. We will greatly miss her as she enjoys her well-deserved retirement."<br /><br />Rhodes began her career with the City in 1994 as secretary to the city manager when she was hired by City Manager Ray Beck. Following her time in that role, she served as assistant to the city manager for sixteen years before becoming assistant city manager in 2012. <br
  /><br />"During my time at the City I have enjoyed helping shape the organization's strategy through a series of strategic planning processes," Rhodes said. "It has been a privilege to help shape the organization as the city it serves has continuously grown and evolved, and I am most proud of the mentorship and relationships I have developed with various staff members that have resulted in their career development and growth."</div>
