<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The City of Columbia is seeking public input regarding the proposed railbanking of the COLT Railroad from Rogers Street to East Brown Station Road.<br /><br />Two open house-style meetings are planned at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, in Conference Rooms 1A-1B. The public will have the opportunity to learn more and offer feedback at one of these meetings:  <br /><br />
<ul>
<li>        Thursday, Feb. 12, noon to 1 p.m.</li>
<li>        Thursday, Feb. 12, 4:30-6:30 p.m.</li>
</ul>
<br />The City of Columbia has owned and operated the COLT Railway from downtown Columbia to Centralia since 1987. Businesses along the 2.5-mile section of track from Rogers Street to East Brown Station Road have not used rail service for years. <br /><br />Railbanking is a process established by the federal government in 1983 to preserve out-of-service rail corridors and infrastructure for future reactivation. <br /><br />Anyone unable to attend the meeting can still provide feedback online at <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://beheard.como.gov/colt-railroad-railbanking">BeHeard.CoMo.gov</a>. <br /><br />For more information, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 573.874.7460. </div>
