<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - The fifth annual Make Music Columbia, presented by the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs, will be held on Sunday, June 21. The day-long event includes a wide variety of free musical performances. <br /><br />Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. Musicians of diverse ages, skill levels, and musical persuasions were encouraged to sign up during the registration period, which closed June 16. A variety of local venues also signed up to host performers. All events are free and open to the public.<br /><br />Make Music Columbia is part of Make Music Day, a global music celebration that takes place on the summer solstice each year and brings people of all ages and skill levels together to make music. Make Music Day began in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique, and has spread to over 1,000 cities across 120 countrie
 s. This year, over 150 U.S. cities will host thousands of Make Music performances across the country as part of the world’s largest annual music event.<br /><br />The community is invited to come out and enjoy performances around town throughout the day. Visit Columbia’s Make Music Day website at <a href="https://makemusicday.org/columbiamo/">makemusicday.org/columbiamo</a> for a full schedule of events.</div>
