<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Columbia Regional Airport (COU) welcomed a record 19,584 departing passengers in June 2026, more than doubling the 9,294 passengers recorded during the same month last year.<br /><br />The latest milestone reflects the airport's continued growth as travelers increasingly choose COU for its expanding flight options and convenient access to major airline hubs.<br /><br />In April, aviation planning, design and development firm Mead & Hunt identified Columbia Regional Airport as the fastest-growing airport in the United States among airports with at least 10,000 monthly seats, projecting a 107% increase in available seats over the following six months.<br /><br />"We're seeing more travelers choose COU because it's becoming easier than ever to fly close to home," said Airport Manager Michael Parks. "Expanded service, new destinations and continued investment are helping us meet that growing demand."<br />
 <br />To support increasing demand, in June the City opened a new 600-space south parking lot and launched daily shuttle service between the lot and terminal, expanding parking capacity while providing convenient access for travelers.<br /><br />Other examples of COU’s recent momentum include:<br />
<ul>
<li>A record 242,167 passengers in 2025, a 17% increase over the previous year.</li>
<li>United Airlines' return with daily nonstop service to Chicago O'Hare and Denver.</li>
<li>New daily American Airlines service to Charlotte, providing one-stop access to more than 180 destinations.</li>
<li>New Allegiant nonstop service to Orlando/Sanford and Destin-Fort Walton Beach.</li>
<li>New Allgeiant nonstop service to St. Pete-Clearwater beginning November 19th</li>
<li>Increased airline capacity, including a 26% increase in American Airlines seats during peak travel seasons and a 62% increase in seats to Chicago O'Hare.</li>
