<div style="font-size: 110%; line-height:150%;"><h1 style="clear:both; margin-top: 75px;  margin-bottom: 10px; font-weight: bold; font-size: 130%;">Pavement maintenance using Onyx scheduled for 39 City streets starting Aug. 28</h1>
<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Starting at 7 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, Lionmark Contracting, a contractor for the City of Columbia Public Works department, will begin pavement maintenance on 39 City streets, weather permitting.<br /><br />The contractor will apply Onyx surface treatment, a quick-drying asphalt and pavement sealing solution, to streets that previously underwent chip seal maintenance in 2026. Onyx is a blend of liquid asphalt, fine aggregates, recycled materials and bonding agents designed to extend the lifespan of roadways.<br /><br />Public Works crews will begin staking "No Parking" signs along affected streets Wednesday, Aug. 26. Residents are reminded not to park on streets scheduled for maintenance during the dates and times posted on the signs. For streets that typically allow parking, "No Parking" signs are posted at least 24 hours before work begins.<br /><br />Work will begin on West Rollins Road Friday, Aug. 28, an
 d continue Saturday, Aug. 29.<br /><br />Crews are expected to work weekdays through Wednesday, Sept. 16, weather permitting. Crews will not work Sept. 5-7 in observance of Labor Day weekend.<br /><br />Saturdays and Sundays generally will not be scheduled workdays in September. However, Saturdays may be used to make up for significant delays caused by rain.<br /><br />Work is expected to proceed in the following order:<br /><br />

Traffic control signs and flaggers will be present to assist motorists through work zones as needed. Temporary lane closures will be necessary while the treatment dries. Drivers and pedestrians should use caution in work zones and find alternate routes when possible.<br /><br />Crews are expected to complete the work by 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16.</div>
