<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - <p style="display: inline;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">On Saturday, Oct. 3, at 7:36 p.m., Columbia Fire Department (CFD) companies were dispatched to a vehicle collision requiring extrication near East Business Loop 70 and Bowling Street</span><strong>. </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">Reports</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">from</span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">911 indicated that a bicycle rider was trapped beneath the vehicle that had overturned on the victim.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Firefighters arrived within six minutes to find a rolled-over vehicle resting on its roof with the patient trapped by the weight of the vehicle. Firefighters immediately began stabilizing the vehicle, providing life-saving medical care to the victim. Within approximately 25 minutes of CFD's arrival, firefighters successfully lifted the car and safely removed the patient. The patient received definitive care at a local trauma center. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">A total of three CFD companies, two chief officers and one safety captain with 12 fire personnel responded to this incident.</span></p></div>
