<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Following a traffic study that identified vehicle speeds higher than desirable on Highlands Parkway, the City of Columbia Public Works department will hold a second informal open house regarding a traffic calming project.<br /><br />The meeting will be held from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the gymnasium of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4708 Highlands Parkway. Information and diagrams will be available for public review, and City engineering staff will be present to answer questions.<br /><br />During the open house, staff will summarize findings from the initial meeting and resident questionnaire, review community feedback on potential design elements and present a proposed traffic calming design. Staff will also discuss potential next steps for the project.<br /><br />Project information, including speed study data, is available at <a style="white-space:nowrap" href="https://beheard.c
 omo.gov/Highlands-Parkway-traffic-calming">BeHeard.CoMo.gov/Highlands-Parkway-traffic-calming</a> and will also be available for review at the meeting. Public comments will be accepted at the meeting or online via the project webpage through Oct. 27. Comments will be considered as designs are developed.<br /><br />Residents, property owners and others interested in the project are encouraged to attend.<br /><br /><em>Members of the public may attend any open meeting. For requests for accommodations related to disability, please call 573.874.CITY (2489) or email City@CoMo.gov. In order to assist staff in making the appropriate arrangements for your accommodation, please make your request as far in advance of the posted meeting date as possible.</em></div>
