<div class="content"><span style="padding-left: 50px;">(COLUMBIA, MO)</span> - Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 14, Don Schnieders Excavating Co. Inc., contractors for the Columbia Public Works department, will begin Phase 2 of the roundabout construction project at South Fairview and Chapel Hill roads.<br /><br />Phase 2 involves removing the south curb on Chapel Hill Road and the concrete island on South Fairview Road just south of the intersection. Lane closures will occur as needed during work hours, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. During lane closures, flaggers will direct traffic through the intersection. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes.<br /><br />Phase 2 is expected to conclude by Nov. 14, weather permitting. When Phase 3 begins, South Fairview Road will close north of Chapel Hill Road. The city will share additional updates as that phase approaches. The entire project is scheduled for completion by late winter.<br /><br />Drivers are reminded to slow down i
n work zones, follow posted signage and watch for construction crews and equipment.</div>
