Don't miss Saturday's Old Time Square Dance!

Parks & Recreation and The Missouri Traditional Fiddle and Dance
Network are bringing old-time square dances to Columbia. Old Time Square
Dances will be held the 4th Saturday of each month. The first dance will
be held on Saturday, April 24, at the ARC, 1701 W. Ash St. The jam
session will be from 5-7 pm and dances will begin at 7 pm. Dance
instruction is available beginning at 7 pm. Children are welcome with
adult accompaniment.

The Missouri Traditional Fiddle and Dance Network is dedicated to the
perpetuation of old-time fiddle music and dance. Traditional musicians
are invited to a traditional jam session. An evening of old-time
Missouri square dance designed for the entire family will follow.
Callers will walk participants through each step before the dancing
begins. Billy Lee, well-known fiddler, entertainer and luthier, will be
fiddling for the dances with Jordan Wax on back-up. Callers will be
Steve Young or Jim Thaxter.

Tickets available at the door. Adults: $6, 7-17 years: $3, Children 6 &
under and Jammers: Free.
