The Commission on Cultural Affairs will not meet in August...they are
taking a month off for summer vacation!  Their regular monthly meetings
will start up again on September 8, 4:15 p.m. in the mezzanine
conference room of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway. 
Commission meetings are always open to the public.
       
Annual Arts Funding Process Update...
The Commission's arts funding recommendations will be presented to City
Council for their consideration and final approval on Monday, August 18.
 The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. and is in the Council Chambers on the
fourth floor of the Daniel Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway.  The
presentation will include an opportunity for public comment. Applicants
are not required to attend but certainly may do so as it is an open
meeting.
   
Small Request Funding Reminder & FYI...
A reminder that all available dollars for Small Requests in the OCA's
fourth quarter (July-September) have been allocated already.  The first
quarter of the OCA's new fiscal year begins October 1.  In order for a
request to be considered at the October 13 meeting of the Commission,
applications must be received by September 10.  Contact the OCA for an
application and guidelines or use the on-line form at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com (on the Cultural Affairs page).
