Office of Cultural Affairs INFO...
Annual Arts Organization Funding
On October 4, City Council authorized contracts with the 16 local arts organizations that will receive city arts funding through the OCA's annual process. We will be sending the contracts soon, along with instructions for completing revisions. Organizations must return signed contracts and requested revisions before initial payment can be made.
Small Request Funding
The next deadline for Small Request funding is Dec. 10...applications will be for the second quarter of funding, Jan.-March. Requests may be for up to $500 and must follow the below-listed guidelines (contact the OCA for a complete listing). Call 573-874-6386 for an application and guidelines, or use the on-line form at www.GoColumbiaMo.com (on the Cultural Affairs page).
*Funding is limited to one request per project. Multiple projects from the same agency are allowed.
*Funds are available to agencies with total annual budgets of no more than $500,000 and only to arts agencies. Collaborations are allowed, but only with an arts organization holding a 501c3 status as the lead agency.
*OCA does not fund capital outlay or perishable items.
We Need Your Input to Plan for the Future!
In 2005, the OCA will finalize a second revision of the city's cultural plan, Creative Columbia, which was first developed in 1993. The revision will focus on keeping the plan current and connected to the needs of the community. Public input is essential to the process. Please provide your take on Columbia's art and culture by completing one or more of the simple surveys at www.GoColumbiaMo.com/arts. For more info. or a hard copy of the survey(s) contact the OCA: 573-874-6386, 7488tty, oca at GoColumbiaMo.com.
