ATTENTION ARTS ORGANIZATIONS...
Upcoming Arts Funding Deadlines! A reminder that deadlines for our
annual arts funding process are upcoming...the deadline for an optional
staff review of proposals is April 7. Review is for completeness and
accuracy only. You may submit any aspect of your application...the
narrative, budget, or just a concept you are considering...or the entire
completed form. You will not be penalized if you do not submit a draft.
The final due date is May 5. Applications must be in the OCA by 5:00
p.m. that day. This is not a postmark deadline -- if you mail your
application, allow additional time for the city's mail room to process
items after the Post Office does so. Late applications cannot be
considered.
Printing Your Arts Funding Application...Almost every year, it seems,
we get at least one frantic call the day that arts funding applications
are due. Since every computer and printer set-up is potentially
different (and since we are not computer experts!), we are generally
unable to assist callers. Last year we added a link on the arts funding
section of our web site that provides resources for trouble-shooting
printer problems, www.GoColumbiaMo.com (GoWord: GoArtsFunding). You are
strongly encouraged to access the online funding form and print it well
in advance of the deadline to confirm that your computer set-up works
successfully with it.
Marketing the Arts...Attend the next Arts Roundtable, April 18, 5:30 to
7:30 p.m. at the Activity and Recreation Center (ARC),1701 W. Ash.
Michael Donovan, program specialist with the Missouri Arts Council, will
be the featured speaker. His program will focus on how effective
marketing can increase your audience, impact your fundraising and change
the way people think about your organization. The session is free but
registration is required. For more info., call 573-874-6387 or e-mail
kskjella at GoColumbiaMo.com.
Columbia Festival of the Arts...Applications for the visual, performing
and literary components of the Festival must be postmarked by April 20.
Contact the OCA for a form, 573-874-6386, festival at GoColumbiaMo.com.
Applications for arts organization booths will be sent in May.
