[ccaa-l]: The Commission on Cultural Affairs will not meet in December

[Commision on Cultural Affairs Meeting Agendas]

THE COMMISSION ON CULTURAL AFFAIRS WILL NOT HOLD A REGULAR MEETING IN
DECEMBER...
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Commission will not take place
on December 8.  Regular monthly meetings of the Commission will resume
on January 12, 4:15 p.m. in the mezzanine conference room of the Daniel
Boone Building, 701 E. Broadway; Commission meetings are always open to
the public.

ANNUAL CITY ARTS FUNDING WORKSHOP...
Applications for the city’s fiscal year ‘10 arts funding will be
available beginning January 29. Stop by to pick up the application and
meet informally with OCA staff anytime 12:30-5:30 p.m. that day, at the
Gentry Building, 1 S. 7th Street. If you can’t make it on the 29th,
contact the OCA to receive the application form and discuss the process;

those that received zero-funding in past years are strongly encouraged
to attend the session.

Congratulations go to Kay McCarthy on her upcoming retirement from the
Office of Cultural Affairs, effective January 9.  A big thank you goes
to her for eight years on staff advocating for the arts and helping to
coordinate city arts programming and services. She’ll be painting,
spending time with family and walking her dogs…and will stay a strong
supporter and proponent for our arts community. Thank you, Kay!
