Annual Arts Organization Funding
Contracts for fiscal year 2010 arts funding were sent to arts
organizations on October 27. Signed contracts, revised narratives and/or
budgets and responses to stipulations are due back to the OCA on or
before December 15 and must be received before payment can be made. If
you have not received your packet, or have questions about the process,
contact the OCA, 573-874-6386, oca at GoColumbiaMo.com.
Get a Missouri Arts Council Grant!
Want to receive funding for your nonprofit arts event from the Missouri
Arts Council? Attend a free workshop for those seeking help with the
application...November 18, 1 to 4 p.m. at the Activity & Recreation
Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash Street. Participants will learn: what the
requirements are for applying, what funding programs are available, what
expenses can be funded, what criteria should be addressed, how to
present a project successfully, how to send effective support materials
and how panelists review applications. To register, contact the OCA at

Free Fund Raising Webinar
Do you dread asking for money for your organization? It’s not an easy
task, but it is an essential one for any nonprofit. Learn how to ask in
a free, 78 min. webinar presentation by Laura Fredricks, author of The
Ask: How to Ask Anybody for Any Amount for Any Purpose. Participants
will learn: ways to overcome fear or hesitation, the essential elements
of any ask, who to ask, how to handle any reaction, how to ask in this
economy and ways to follow through. The webinar will be offered
immediately following the November 18 Missouri Arts Council grant
writing workshop (see above) at the Activity & Recreation Center (ARC),
1701 W. Ash Street. The webinar will start at 2:30 p.m. To register,

Don’t miss an opportunity to get the word out about your programs!

accepted by phone. The 2010 deadlines are:
● January-February 2010 issue: entries due 12-01-09
● March-April issue: entries due 02-01-10
● May-June issue: entries due 04-01-10
● July-August issue: entries due 06-01-10
● September-October issue: entries due 08-02-10
● November-December issue: entries due 10-01-10
● January-February 2011 issue: entries due 12-01-10
Small Request Funding
The next deadline for Small Request funding is December
10...applications will be for the second quarter of the OCA’s funding,
and must be for projects occurring after January 11, but before October
1, 2010. Requests may be for up to $500. Contact the OCA for an
