Annual Arts Funding Process Update...
The Commission’s work on our annual arts funding process will be presented to City Council for their consideration on Monday, August 16 as part of a public hearing on the city’s upcoming budget. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. and is in the Council Chambers on the first floor of the new addition to City Hall, 701 E. Broadway (entrance at the corner of Broadway and Eighth Streets). The presentation will include an opportunity for public comment. Applicants are not required to attend but may do so as it is an open meeting. Final approval of the funding recommendations will not occur until late September. If council approves the funding recommendations, contracts will be authorized after October 1 and then sent to funded agencies.

Missouri Arts Council Input: Save the Date
The Missouri Arts Council is planning a statewide “listening tour” to collect citizen input on their strategic plan. One stop will be in Columbia, tentatively on August 31, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., location to be determined. For more information, contact MAC toll free at 866-407-4752 or email moarts at ded.mo.gov. Help us make sure that the voices of mid Missouri artists and arts agencies are heard during this important process.
