Annual City Arts Funding...
Applications for the city’s fiscal year ‘12 arts funding will be
available beginning January 31. Guidelines and the form will be sent to
all previous applicants and will be available online as well at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com/Arts. If you have questions or would like to
schedule a one-on-one consultation with staff, e-mail
oca at GoColumbiaMo.com or call 573-874-6386. New applicants or those
that received zero-funding in past years are strongly encouraged to meet
with staff.
Traffic Box Art…
Mid-Missouri artists are invited to apply for the OCA’s annual
Traffic Box Art program. The next box to be addressed is at the corner
of Broadway and Seventh Street in The District. Previously completed
boxes have proven to be resistant to graffiti and vandalism and
contribute significantly to the vitality and attractiveness of the
downtown streetscape. The project budget includes a $1,500 honorarium to
the artist plus a materials fee. Postmark deadline for applications is
February 18. A complete project prospectus will be available at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com/Arts starting December 8. Select the “artist
opportunity” link at the top of the page to view project guidelines
and access the design template. For more information, e-mail
oca at GoColumbiaMo.com or call 573-874-6386.
