OFFICE of CULTURAL AFFAIRS UPDATES...

OCA Interim Manager...On March 14, Connie Kacprowicz was named the
part-time interim manager for the Office of Cultural Affairs. Kacprowicz
will divide her time between duties at Columbia Water & Light and
filling the vacancy left by Marie Hunter, who resigned her position as
cultural affairs manager effective March 4, 2011. Kacprowicz has worked
for the City of Columbia since 1997 and has held many roles in public
communications.
Kacprowicz’s strong interest in the arts includes service on the
board of the Columbia Art League and many volunteer positions with the
VSA, True/False film festival, Art in the Park and the
Roots-n-Blues-n-BBQ festival. She holds a bachelor of arts from the
University of Missouri.

Upcoming City Arts Funding Deadline! A reminder that the deadline for
our annual arts funding process is upcoming...applications must be in
the OCA by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 2. This is not a postmark deadline --
if you mail your application, allow additional time for the city’s
mail room to process items after the Post Office does so. Late
applications cannot be considered.

Printing Your City Arts Funding Application...Almost every year we get
at least one frantic call the day that arts funding applications are
due. Since every computer and printer set-up is potentially different
(and since we are not computer experts!), we are generally unable to
assist callers. Please note that there is a link on the arts funding
section of our web site that provides resources for trouble-shooting
printer problems, www.gocolumbiamo.com/Arts/Arts_Funding/index.php. You
are strongly encouraged to access the online funding form and print it
well in advance of the deadline to confirm that your computer set-up
works successfully with it.
