ARTS INFO.

Small Request Funding Opportunity…April marks the beginning of the
third quarter of the OCA’s fiscal year, which means that Small Request
applications must be received by 5 p.m. on March 12. Requests may be for
up to $750 and must be from an arts organization with 501c3 status.
Applications will be reviewed and allocations made at the Commission on
Cultural Affairs’ April meeting. For more information, contact the

Short Street Parking Garage Percent for Art…the postmark deadline for
the Short Street project has been extended to March 16. The project
budget was also increased to $58,000. A complete prospectus and

“Artist Opportunity” link at the top of the page).  

Missouri Arts Council Technical Assistance…Interested in applying for
Missouri Arts Council Funding? Have a question on current grant? Staff
from the Missouri Arts Council will be “On Location” in Columbia
Monday, March 19. Contact the OCA to schedule a one-on-one session.

Arts Town Hall Meeting...Come meet the new Office of Cultural Affairs
Manager, Chris Stevens, as he gives a “State of the Arts in
Columbia” presentation and conducts an “Arts Town Hall Meeting”
on Tuesday, March 20, 7 p.m. at Orr Street Studios, 106 Orr Street. The
Office of Cultural Affairs is seeking input on its role for nurturing
the arts in Columbia. This is an opportunity to share ideas on how the
office can better serve the arts community going forward. Please join us

City Commemorative Poster...Missouri artists are invited to submit
their art work for the city’s annual Commemorative Poster competition;
$1,000 honorarium. The postmark deadline is March 23. For the guidelines
and prospectus, go to www.GoColumbiaMo.com/Arts (look for the “artist
opportunity” link at the top of the page).

Annual Arts Funding Applications…Applications for the city’s annual
arts funding process are available at the OCA or online at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com/Arts (look for the “arts agency opportunity”
link near the top of the page). Plan ahead and make sure that your
computer and printer are compatible. The deadline for the optional staff
review of proposals is April 2. The final due date for all funding
applications is May 2; applications must be in the OCA by 5 p.m. that
day. This is not a postmark deadline; if you are mailing your
application, allow additional time for the city’s mail room to process
items after the Post Office does so. Late applications cannot be
considered.
