*Commemorative Poster Unveiled*
Congratulations go to Colette Brumbaugh whose oil on canvas titled *Bike on
the Katy Trail** *has been unveiled as the 2012 Columbia Commemorative
Poster. The work was selected from 147 images submitted by 22 Missouri
artists through a jury process. Brumbaugh, a native Missourian and Columbia
resident, graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute with a Bachelors of
Fine Art in painting and was awarded a full assistantship to the graduate
program at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. Primarily a plein air
painter and watercolorist, Colette works from the natural beauty of the
landscape and travels frequently to paint and gain inspiration from nature
for her work. The image was inspired by an old homestead on the Missouri
River near Easley she often visits. The 2012 Columbia Commemorative Poster
can be purchased at Deck the Walls in the Columbia Mall and at 1305
Grindstone Parkway, or at the city’s OCA, 300 S. Providence Road.
