The Commission on Cultural Affairs will meet on Monday, March 11, at 4:15
p.m. in the community room of the Walton Building, 300 S. Providence Road.

----------*Please note the following important information*---------
*Small Request Funding is almost gone…*a total of seven requests were
funded in the first and second quarters, leaving a balance of $500. The
next deadline for Small Request applications is 5 p.m. on March 11. Only
arts organizations with 501c3 status may apply; if you do not have a 501c3
you may collaborate with an organization that does. Applications will be
reviewed and allocations made at the Commission on Cultural Affairs’ April
meeting. For more information, contact the OCA, 573-874-6386,

*City Commemorative Poster...*Missouri artists are invited to submit their
art work for the city’s annual Commemorative Poster competition; honorarium
is $1,000 and the postmark deadline is March 22. For more information and
to submit an application, go to

on the call for artists link listed in the “Announcements”
section.
*Annual Arts Funding Applications…*for the city’s annual arts funding
process are available at the OCA or online at
www.GoColumbiaMo.com/Arts<http://www.gocolumbiamo.com/Arts>(click on
“annual” under Funding Opportunities for all funding forms). The
deadline for the optional staff review of proposals is April 1. The final
due date for all funding applications is May 1; applications must be in the
OCA by 5 p.m. that day. This is not a postmark deadline. If you are mailing
your application, allow additional time for the city’s mail room to process
items after the Post Office does so. Late applications cannot be considered.
*Art News…*is a weekly email newsletter that gives a snapshot of upcoming
arts events and activities in Columbia. Sent to over 900 subscribers (and
the list is growing!), OCA wants to provide the most comprehensive listing
of arts events in the community. To submit an event to Art News, please
email OCA by 5 p.m. on Wednesdays at oca at GoColumbiaMo.com. Contact us for
submission guidelines. If you have not yet signed up for Art News, do so by
visiting the OCA website,

and find the link in the "Announcements" section.
*Commission Vacancy...*applications to fill *one* partial-term vacancy,
which will expire on October 31, 2013, are due in the City Clerk's office
by 5 p.m. on March 8. Applicants must be a qualified voter of the City and
reside in Ward 2, Ward 3 or Ward 6. Members shall not serve on the board
of directors or be employed by any agency which applies for funding through
the Commission or which receives funding upon recommendation of the
Commission. The Commission advises the Council in all matters pertaining to
the arts and cultural environment of the City. Monthly meetings held on
the second Monday of the month at 4:15 p.m. Applications may be submitted
online or in person.
