Truman Students to present findings on
Safe & Affordable Housing Survey

Students from the University of Missouri’s Truman School of Public Affairs
will be presenting findings from a survey on safe and affordable housing in
Columbia on Thursday, May 9 at 4 p.m. in the Mezzanine Conference Room of
City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. The presentation is open to the public.

Three students, Josh Meyer, Jacob Pickett and Samuel Christensen, conducted
a study to determine the highest priority barriers to affordable housing
from the perspective of the low-moderate income population of the City of
Columbia. The students surveyed 133 people earlier this year.

The survey achieves a goal of the City’s Comprehensive Plan that directs
how federal housing funds are used in Columbia. Results of the study may
provide insight and direction on how best to invest Community Development
Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME funds to meet affordable
housing needs in Columbia.
