Special council meeting scheduled to swear-in Mayor Hindman and
Councilpersons Hutton, Loveless; Council plans to continue street
standards hearing until May 3
COLUMBIA, MO (April 13, 2004) -- After discussion with Mayor Darwin
Hindman, there will be a special Council meeting next Monday, April 19,
at 5 p.m. for the purpose of swearing in Mayor Darwin Hindman,
Councilman Bob Hutton and Councilman Jim Loveless. This special meeting
provides for the mayor's appointment of a mayor pro-tem, and council
guests are also acknowledged.

A reception will be held beginning at 4 p.m. in the Council Chambers
prior to the 5 p.m. meeting.

The regularly scheduled council meeting will begin at 7 p.m. The mayor
and council members have indicated that they plan to continue the
hearing on street standards until the May 3 meeting because of
substantial interest in the topic and the length of the agenda on April
19. Anyone interested in speaking on street standards is encouraged to
attend the May 3 meeting, but will have an opportunity to address the
council at either the April 19 or May 3 meeting.
