Bondra named acting city planning director

COLUMBIA, MO (June 2, 2004) -- With the resignation of Roy Dudark
effective June 4, City Manager Raymond A. Beck is appointing Chuck
Bondra as acting director of the Planning and Development Department
until the permanent position has been filled. Bondra is currently
serving as a senior planner. He has served as interim director
previously and has been a city employee in the Planning and Development
Department since April 1977. He previously served as a planner with the
city of Scottdale, Ariz. 

The Planning and Development Department has a substantial workload and
support will be provided by the City Manager's Office, as needed.

Our Human Resources Department is presently advertising this position
and no exact time frame has been set for filling the position on a
permanent basis. Typically it takes 4 - 6 months to fill a major
department head position. The preferred closing date for applications is
June 28, 2004.
