Street Closure on Thompson Road

COLUMBIA, MO (June 15, 2004) -- The City of Columbia Public Works
Department announced today that beginning Wednesday, June 16 at 7 a.m.,
Hackley Construction, the contractor working for Glen-Bear Development
will begin work on a water main tap. This work will result in the
closure of Thompson Road from Springcress Drive to Beechwood Drive. A
detour route will be marked out as follows:

For eastbound Thompson Road traffic - From Thompson Road, turn south on
Springcress Drive and proceed to Pineland Drive. Turn east on Pineland
Drive and proceed to Beechwood Drive. Turn north on Beechwood Drive and
proceed to Thompson Road. 

For westbound Thompson Road traffic - Thompson Road, turn south on
Beechwood Drive and proceed to Pineland Drive. Turn west on Pineland
Drive
and proceed to Springcress Drive. Turn north on Springcress Drive and
proceed
to Thompson Road.

The work should be completed and the street should be reopened, weather
permitting, by Thursday, June 17 at 7 p.m.

Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise extreme caution when in
the construction area and to use an alternate route whenever possible.
