Groundbreaking for new walking trail in Hallsville	(HALLSVILLE, MO)
- Being physically active in Hallsville is about to get more convenient.
The groundbreaking ceremony for a new quarter-mile walking trail in
Hallsville will be held on May 18, 2004 in Tribble Park at 6 p.m. The
new 6-foot wide trail will be located close to  the children's play
areas within Tribble Park. The trail and its location are designed to
allow families to enjoy recreational activities together.
	The city of Hallsville received a $5,000 grant from the Missouri
Department of Health and Senior Services' Heart Disease and Stroke
Program which will fund the project. The grant is designed to decrease
the incidence of chronic health problems including heart disease,
diabetes, stroke and high blood pressure. Officials invited to attend
the groundbreaking include the Hallsville Chamber of Commerce, mayor,
park board, Boone County Commissioner Skip Elkin, Boone County
Commissioner Keith Schnarre and State Representative Steve Hobbs.
