Volunteers needed for September festivals
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia is seeking volunteers to
help with two major events in September: the Heritage Festival held
Sept. 18-19 in Nifong Park and the Festival of the Arts held Sept. 25-26
on Courthouse Square.
Over 300 volunteers are needed to staff both events. Volunteer
tasks include helping in the children's activity area, staffing
information booths and surveying festival attendees. All shifts are two
to three hours in length.
"Volunteering at festivals is a great way for groups,
families, businesses, individuals and people of any age to help our
community," said Leigh Nutter, volunteer coordinator for the city of
Columbia. "Helping out is a great way to enjoy the festival and meet
new people."
Anyone interested in learning more about volunteering at either
event can contact the city of Columbia's Office of Volunteer Services
at 874-7499 or visit www.GoColumbiaMo.com.
