David Mars, Columbia Water and Light energy management
specialist for the past 18 years, will conduct the weatherization
workshops. He will present materials and information to make Columbia
homes more comfortable and energy efficient.
"I have visited over 9,000 to conduct energy audits and there
is always something that can be done to save energy. Most folks are
surprised to find what has been causing them discomfort and higher
bills. The weatherization workshops will involve photos of where losses
are frequent, written materials to take home, and a small weatherization
packet to get them started," says Mars.
Columbia Water and Light is a municipally owned utility that
encourages conservation to hold down energy costs for Columbians.
Conservation also helps preserve natural resources for future
generations. The utility offers many conservation programs for their
customers including but not limited to free home audits, summer load
management discounts, free shade trees and low interest loans for energy
savings improvements.
