Stephens Lake Park dedication ceremony to be held

COLUMBIA, MO (June 21, 2005) -- A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held
this Sunday, June 26, to dedicate Stephens Lake Park. Activities will
start at 12:30 p.m. with the ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled to begin
at 2 p.m. at the park's Island Shelter. The public is invited to
attend. 

Following is a schedule of events: 

12:30 - 2 p.m.
Live acoustic background music by Ironweed
Canoe and kayak demonstrations and rides by The Alpine Shop
Kite demonstrations by the Funky Fliers Kite Club
Fishing demonstrations by Bass Pro Shops 
Children's activities 
"Scavenger Walk" on the perimeter trail. Commemorative pedometers
will be given to those who finish first.

2 p.m.
Ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Island Shelter 

It is recommended that visitors park in the west parking lot off of Old
Highway 63. Additional parking will be available at Boone Hospital with
shuttle service provided.
