Start construction of the Third Avenue and Garth Avenue Drainage
Improvement Project
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the
beginning of the construction of a drainage improvement project along
Garth Avenue just north of the intersection with Third Avenue. This
project is scheduled to begin on May 16, weather permitting. Garth
Avenue will be periodically reduced to one-lane traffic during non-peak
traffic hours to facilitate the installation of reinforced concrete pipe
and a street inlet along the east side of Garth Avenue.
	Columbia Curb and Gutter Inc. of Columbia, Mo., was the
successful bidder on the project in the amount of $15,660. This project
will consist of 100 linear feet of reinforced concrete pipe with a
reinforced concrete inlet and other incidental work.
	It is anticipated that construction will be completed by June of
2005. Care should be exercised in the construction area and alternate
routes should be used.
