New airport manager for Columbia Regional Airport
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department is
pleased to announce that Ms. Kathryn A. Sok has accepted the position of
airport manager at Columbia Regional Airport (COU). Ms. Sok will begin
employment on Monday, Dec. 5, 2005.
	Ms. Sok holds a bachelor's degree in business/journalism from
the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is currently employed as the
assistant airport manager in Grand Island, Neb. She has extensive
experience with airport safety and security, as well as special event
management. She has administered an AIP grant program totaling $25
million for airport reconstruction and implemented an aggressive
recruitment program, which targeted military pilot training
requirements.
	Ms. Sok understands the importance of the airport as a community
economic development resource. She has pledged to promote and enhance
public awareness of this often overlooked asset in our midst and is
ready to take on the challenges Columbia Regional Airport will present.
She is looking forward to increased airport traffic and blue skies over
mid-Missouri.
