Closure of Green Meadows Road at Providence Road
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Public Works Department announced the
closure of the east side intersection of Green Meadows Road with
Providence Road. 
	Steve & Associates Inc. of Fulton, Mo., the successful bidder on
the Green Meadows Road project, will begin the reconstruction of the
intersection with Providence Road and the adjacent outer road. This
portion of the project will consist of the construction of a 57-foot
wide asphaltic cement concrete pavement with concrete curb and gutters
with additional turn lanes and landscape islands. Traffic from the north
outer road will be diverted onto the newly constructed outer roadway and
Green Meadows Road to Grindstone Avenue. The intersection will be closed
to traffic from all directions beginning Sept. 10. Access to and from
businesses and property south of this intersection will be from
Buttonwood Drive only.
	It is anticipated that the intersection will reopen by
mid-October, weather permitting, and the entire project will be
completed shortly thereafter. Care should be exercised in the
construction area and alternate routes should be used.
