Dedication planned for Riechmann Indoor Pavilion

COLUMBIA, MO (April 24, 2006) -- The public is invited to attend the
dedication of the new Clarence Riechmann Indoor Pavilion at Stephens
Lake Park. The dedication ceremony will be hosted by the city of
Columbia and Columbia Parks and Recreation on Saturday, April 29. The
building, located at 2300 East Walnut, will be open that day at 10 a.m.
with the ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m.

The dedication ceremony will feature remarks by Mayor Darwin Hindman,
City Manager Bill Watkins and a representative of the Columbia
Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club. The club was generous in supporting the
construction of the facility. Members of the Chamber of Commerce
Ambassadors will conduct a ribbon-cutting ceremony as part of the
dedication.

The Riechmann Pavilion was named for Clarence Riechmann, a charter
member of the Cosmo Club beginning in 1947.

The facility was recently completed and is available for public rental.
It is also being used as the home of Parks and Recreation's Camp
Adventure, as well as numerous life enrichment classes.
