The PedNet Project: Connecting Columbia -
Non-Motorized Transportation
(COLUMBIA, MO) - The PedNet Project: Connecting Columbia is a
non-motorized transportation system pilot funded and being implemented
by the FHWA, MoDOT, the city of Columbia and citizens to create an
environment where citizens feel safe, capable and comfortable using
pedestrian, bicycle and mass transit forms of travel.
The city announced today it has launched a non-motorized
transportation concern reporting form as part of the PedNet Project:
Connecting Columbia. The form will provide an efficient way for citizens
to inform staff about concerns they experience when traveling throughout
the city. This form is the first step in a Global Information System
(GIS) technology-based approach that will be used to both help track and
keep the public informed about progress being made to encourage more
non-motorized travel through creation of a safer environment on existing
facilities.
The new Web-based reporting form link is available on the city's
Web site at www.GoColumbiaMo.com (GoWord: goreportproblems).
