EMERGENCY MEDIA ALERT AND PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 

Residential Refuse Service Cancellation 

COLUMBIA, MO (December 1, 2006 ) - The City of Columbia Public Works Department announced today that the Friday residential solid waste services, including trash, recycling and yard waste collection are cancelled. The commercial solid waste collection services are also canceled for this day, Friday, December 1. 

Residential refuse collection operations will resume on Monday, December 4, 2006 and normal route collection will occur. Some commercial services will resume as soon as conditions allow. 

The landfill is also closed for today, Friday, December 1, 2006. The landfill will reopen Saturday, December 2, 2006. We appreciate everyone’s patience as crews do their best to reopen the services.
