Management Requests Volunteers for Social Service Programs

COLUMBIA, MO (December 1, 2006) - During the next several days of this
Snow Emergency, Social Service Agencies may have clients that routinely
have a need for special services such as Meals-On-Wheels and delivery of
medications, etc. We are attempting to find persons that may be
available to assist in providing services for thier clients or other
shut-ins within Boone County. These volunteers may be able to help
shovel or plow snow for elderly and shut-ins, deliver food, medicine or
other essential but not life threatening services. Should clients need
emergency services of any nature our emergency services community will
provide that service. We will be asking volunteers with 4 wheel drive
vehicles to call into the Joint Communications Center at 874-7470 with
the services they would be able to supply.
