Snow removal operations

(COLUMBIA, MO) - The city of Columbia Public Works Department announced today that snow removal operations are continuing around the clock. The snow plow trucks are continuing to go through all streets.
Refreezing means ice will continue to be a problem for drivers. Public Works will continue to spread the salt/cinder mix to promote melting and will continue to go back through streets with snow plows to break up the ice pack. The department is also employing graders, front wheel loaders and backhoes to combat the ice pack.
The operation will continue to work 12-hour shifts, 24 hours per day with a full crew to clear all streets.
