Boards and commissions applications are available 
								
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia city clerk is accepting
applications for boards and commissions. Applications must be received
by the clerk's office, 701 E. Broadway, 4th Floor, by noon on Friday,
March 10. Applications are available at the clerk's office or may be
found on the city's Web site at www.GoColumbiaMo.com on the City
Council page. The following are current boards and commissions
openings:
*	The Building Construction Codes Commission has two vacancies for
alternate members with one term (fire prevention) to expire Aug. 1, 2008
and one term (landlord) to expire Aug. 1, 2007. Alternate members serve
in the absence of regular members. Monthly meetings are the last Monday
at 4:30 p.m.
*	The Cable Television Task Force has one vacancy to be appointed
by the mayor. Members are charged with reviewing issues related to
franchise renewals of cable television franchises and also reviewing
issues related to the operation of public access channels by both cable
companies.
*	The Board of Plumbing Examiners has one vacancy with the term to
expire May 31, 2007. The member must be a layperson and a registered
voter. Monthly meetings are 5 p.m. the last Tuesday of the month.
*	The Planning and Zoning Commission has one vacancy with the term
to expire May 31, 2009. The member must be a registered voter and
resident of the city at least one year immediately prior to appointment
and shall hold no other office or position in city government. Meetings
are at 7 p.m. Thursdays following Monday Council meetings.
