Some city operations experiencing phone problems
(COLUMBIA, MO) - Some city operations are experiencing problems
with telephone service.
The problem involves intermittent outages affecting the Public
Works Operations Center at the Grissum Building, 1313 Lakeview Ave., the
Power Plant on Business Loop 70 East and Electric Distribution (Heuchan
Building) on Business Loop 70 East.
Columbia Water and Light's emergency number, 875-2555, is
working properly. Customers can reach the utility 24 hours a day, seven
days a week, to report any electric or water outages.
If you experience difficulty getting a telephone call through regarding
water or electric issues, please call the following alternate phone
number, until full service is restored.
Electric Distribution and the Power Plant -- call Water and Light
Administration at 874-7325.
If you experience difficulty getting a telephone call through
regarding solid waste, street or sewer maintenance issues, until full
service is restored call one of the following numbers.
Public Works Operations Center (Grissum Building) - call 289-5707 or
289-5708.
The City's Information Services Department has determined that
the telephone problem involves faulty modules that have to be replaced.
Replacement modules have been ordered and should be delivered and
installed later this week. The problem is related to city-owned systems
only and not related to the telephone company.
