Boards and commissions applications are available 
									
	(COLUMBIA, MO) - The Columbia city clerk is accepting applications for boards and commissions. Applications must be received by the clerk's office, 701 E. Broadway, 4th Floor, by noon on Friday, April 7. Applications are available at the clerk's office or may be found on the city's Web site at www.GoColumbiaMo.com on the City Council page. The following are current boards and commissions openings:
*	The Board of Adjustment has two vacancies with terms to expire May 1, 2010 and May 1, 2011. Members are responsible for hearing and deciding appeals where it is alleged there is an error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of zoning, planning and subdividing ordinances. Members must be city residents. Monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday at 7 p.m.
*	The Airport Advisory Board has one vacancy with the term to expire May 16, 2010. The member shall be a registered voter of the city and be familiar with the subject of aviation. Monthly meetings are held the first Wednesday following the first Monday at 12 p.m. at the airport. 
*	The Building Construction Codes Commission has two vacancies for alternate members with one term (fire prevention) to expire Aug. 1, 2008 and one term (landlord) to expire Aug. 1, 2007. Alternate members serve in the absence of regular members. Monthly meetings are the fourth Monday at 4:30 p.m.
*	The Cable Television Task Force has one vacancy to be appointed by the mayor. Members are charged with reviewing issues related to franchise renewals of cable television franchises and also reviewing issues related to the operation of public access channels by both cable companies. Meetings are held on call.
*	The Community Development Commission has one vacancy with the term to expire Nov. 1, 2007. The member must be a registered voter of Ward 3 and shall not serve on the board of directors or be employed by any agency which applies for funding through the commission or receives funding upon the recommendation of the commission. Meetings are held on call. 
*	The Board of Plumbing Examiners has one vacancy with the term to expire May 31, 2007. The member must be a layperson and a registered voter. Monthly meetings are held at 5 p.m. the last Tuesday.
